Pakalōlō Jell-O Shots

Soft, spoonable, party-ready shots, our island take on the Jell-O shot. Pakalōlō is the old Hawaiian word for cannabis, and here it goes in as tincture, infused oil, or decarbed rosin.

Prepare your Pakalōlō input first. A tincture is ready to go and blends into jello better than anything else. Using infused MCT oil? Have it and your lecithin ready. Using rosin or another concentrate? It must be decarbed first, then dissolved into a little warm oil so it can disperse.
🧪 New to concentrates in edibles? Raw rosin and hash are still THCA and will not get you high until decarbed. Activate it, then stir it into warm infused MCT oil before it goes anywhere near the jello. -

Want shots firm enough to pop out of the cup and hold their shape? Sprinkle 1 packet of unflavored gelatin over the cold liquid and let it bloom for 5 minutes. For classic soft, spoonable shots, skip this: the Jell-O sets on its own.

Pour 1 cup boiling water over the Jell-O powder (and the bloomed gelatin, if using). Stir for a full 2 minutes until every grain is dissolved and the liquid is clear.

This is the step that makes or breaks a shot. Dose it in.
💧 Tincture: whisk it straight into the warm jello. It blends clean and even.
🧴 Infused oil: oil and water-based jello want to separate. Whisk in the lecithin first, then stream the warm oil in while whisking hard to emulsify. Keep whisking until it looks uniform.🧮 Dose the Whole Batch, Then Divide Add your total dose to the whole pot, not each cup. Stir in the 1 cup cold liquid. Juice keeps it family-friendly. For adult shots, up to half of that cold cup can be a chilled spirit, but read the caution before you pour.
⚠️ Alcohol and Pakalōlō Together Combining alcohol with an edible amplifies both, and the Pakalōlō onset is slow. If you make boozy shots, keep the dose low, count the alcohol and the THC separately, and tell your guests both are in there. -

Give the pot a final stir and pour into your cups, stirring between pours so the dose stays even. Chill in the fridge for 2 to 4 hours until fully set. Serve with a small spoon, or squeeze a silicone cup to pop the shot loose.
⚗️ Stir Between Pours, Every Time With an oil-based dose, the infusion can drift toward the top of the pot as it cools. A quick stir before each cup is the difference between evenly dosed shots and a few weak ones plus a few far too strong.🌈 Layered shots: pour one flavor, chill it 30 minutes until tacky, then pour the next. Dose each layer the same so a half-eaten shot is still a known dose.
⚠️ Keep clearly labeled: store away from children and pets!
- Start with one shot and wait 60–90 minutes before considering another.
- Store covered in the fridge and eat within a few days; jello shots do not keep like gummies.
