📖   Instructions
  1. 1
    Bloom the Gelatin

    Add cold water to a small bowl. Sprinkle the LorAnn Gelatin across the surface and gently press the powder down with a fork until fully saturated. Set aside and allow the mixture to bloom.

    Melt the Gummy Mix

    Add ¼ cup warm water to a pot and place on low to medium heat. Add the LorAnn Gummy Mix and stir until fully melted with no clumps visible. Remove the pot from the heat source.

    Once the bubbling has settled, pour in the gelatin bloom from Step 1. Stir continuously until all gelatin is fully incorporated and no clumps remain — this can take up to 10 minutes. Allow to cool for 1–2 minutes.

    ✨ Clarifying Using a large spoon, lightly skim off the top layer of foam that has formed on the surface and discard it. This gives your finished gummies a cleaner look.

    Add Infusion & Additives

    Stir in your MCT Oil and/or RSO/Distillate syringe. Mix thoroughly to ensure even distribution throughout the batch.

    ⚗️ Optional Additives
    • Add ½ tsp Lecithin — especially recommended if using MCT oil
    • Add 1 tsp flavoring oil or emulsion to mask the cannabis flavor
    • Add ¼ tsp LorAnn Mould Inhibitor or 1 tsp lemon juice for shelf life
    • Add food colouring to your preferred shade
    Stir well after each addition. Keep the temperature low enough that the mixture does not burn or scorch.

    Mold, Set & Cure

    Place your molds on a stable tray and fill each cavity with the infused mixture. Allow to cool at room temperature for 15–30 minutes, then transfer to the freezer for 10–15 minutes.

    Remove the gummies from the molds and place on a wire rack or parchment paper to dry for 24–48 hours. Once fully cured, store in an airtight container in the fridge.

    💡 If mixture thickens during molding Apply gentle low heat to the pot and stir before continuing to pour. Don't let it get too hot — just enough to loosen it back up.
📌   Notes & Tips
  • The preferred gummy mix is by LorAnn Oils. Other brands can be substituted for each ingredient.
  • If using Infused MCT Oil, you should also add the optional Lecithin during Step 3 for best emulsification.
  • Each bag of LorAnn Gummy Mix yields approximately 3 full batches — scale up as needed.
  • Shelf life improves significantly with the addition of LorAnn Mould Inhibitor or lemon juice.
🌺 Island-Inspired Flavor Combos

LorAnn Oils carries a huge selection of candy flavoring oils. Here are the best island-inspired combos to use with the gummy mix — add 5–10 drops during Step 3 (the bloom step).

🍍 Maui Gold Pineapple

Use LorAnn Pineapple Oil (8–10 drops). Add yellow food coloring for a golden Maui Gold look. Dust finished gummies with li hing mui powder + sugar for an authentic island crack-seed finish.

🥭 Mango Chili

Use LorAnn Mango Oil (8–10 drops) + a tiny pinch of cayenne in the mix. Coat finished gummies in a Tajín + sugar blend. Inspired by the mango-chili combos at every Maui shave ice stand.

🍈 Lilikoi (Passion Fruit)

Use LorAnn Passion Fruit Oil (5–8 drops — it's potent). Add a drop of orange food coloring for a sunset hue. Coat in citric acid + sugar for a sour shell that captures the tart floral punch of Maui-grown lilikoi.

🥥 Coconut Cream (Haupia Style)

Use LorAnn Coconut Oil (8–10 drops) + replace half the water with full-fat coconut milk. Skip food coloring for a milky white gummy. The creamy, tropical haupia flavor is a lūʻau classic in candy form.

🍊 POG (Passion · Orange · Guava)

🫐 Ube (Purple Yam)

Use LorAnn Ube Flavoring (8–10 drops) + purple food coloring. Replace half the water with coconut milk for creaminess. A Filipino-Hawaiian fusion gummy with a stunning purple color and earthy-sweet flavor found in bakeries across Maui.

🌺 Kānehiwa's Tip: LorAnn candy oils are super concentrated — start with fewer drops and taste-test before pouring into molds. You can always add more, but you can't take it back. When replacing water with juice or coconut milk, keep total liquid at the recipe amount to maintain gummy firmness.
